Innovation for Smallholder
Farmers in Latin America

Hola Tractor:
Making Mechanization Accessible to Small Farmers
Company Background
Hola Tractor is a digital platform that helps small-scale farmers in Bolivia access the mechanization they need — without having to own a tractor. By connecting tractor owners with farmers via a simple mobile app, Hola Tractor is helping to boost agricultural productivity while creating new income streams for rural service providers.
Since launching in Bolivia, Hola Tractor has already supported over 2,000 smallholder farmers by making it easier to rent equipment for key farming operations like ploughing and planting.
Our Product
Hola Tractor’s platform allows users to request, book, and track tractors through a user-friendly interface. Farmers can access services via the app, website, SMS, or phone — making it inclusive even for those without smartphones or reliable connectivity.
This project is also empowering entrepreneurship in local communities by using local women in rural areas as booking agents, who coordinate logistics and ensure machines are delivered on time and to the right place.
With support from Incofin Foundation, Hola Tractor is working to:
- Integrate GPS and IoT tracking for better monitoring of tractor operations
- Enhance the user experience for farmers, booking agents, and tractor owners
- Optimize backend systems for faster onboarding and smoother service management
- Strengthen their business and marketing strategy
- Train farmers and booking agents for stronger platform engagement
- This next phase will benefit an additional 2,100 farmers — expanding the platform’s reach and impact in rural Bolivia.
