As part of the technical assistance activities of project “Advancing Digital Innovation for Smallholder Farmers in Latin America”, funded by BID Lab and SSNUP, and implemented by Incofin Foundation, a training program was launched on August 27, 2025, aimed at the portfolio of 14 organizations developing digital agriculture (agtech) solutions. The training is delivered by our partner organizations The Yield Lab Latam and Nesters Tech, and consists of six virtual sessions running through October of this year.
The objective is to transfer knowledge and tools that strengthen the organizations’ capacity in fundraising, strategic use of data, and gender inclusion in business models linked to agtech.
To date, Module 1 has been completed: Keys to Investment Readiness, through which participating organizations acquired knowledge and tools in:
- Identifying key elements of their business models for venture capital investors.
- Developing essential fundraising materials: pitch deck, data room, cap table, term sheet, among others.
- Understanding fundamental legal aspects of the capital-raising process.
- Analyzing metrics, traction, and business validation.
The training will continue with two remaining modules focused on the use of data as a driver of business development, as well as gender inclusion, talent management, and organizational culture in agtech companies. Finally, the program will conclude with a Demo Day, where organizations will present their business models to investors with the goal of generating new opportunities for engagement.
