As part of the technical assistance activities of the project Advancing Digital Innovation for Smallholder Farmers in Latin America, funded by IDB Lab and the SSNUP programme (coordinated by ADA), and implemented by Incofin Foundation, the Pathway training program concluded with a Demo Day that took place on November 26, 2025. This session was organized by The Yield Lab Latam and Nesters and gave the participating startups the opportunity to pitch their digital agriculture solutions to a group of investors and ecosystem organizations.

The session started by welcoming participants and acknowledging the collaborative work behind the program. Luis Roberto Hernández and Jose Enciso from Incofin highlighted the organization’s commitment to strengthening innovation in digital agriculture and supporting companies aiming to scale sustainably across the region, and also thanked IDB Lab and the SSNUP programme for their financial support.

The first presentation came from Terra Kaape, whose platform enables organizations to manage traceability, production costs, and credit. Questions explored how final buyers participate in the system, how Terra Kaape’s behavioral score has been historically used, and how the tool supports more transparent and data-driven pricing.

Next, Finanex presented its export-financing model for SMEs across Paraguay, Brazil, Argentina, Bolivia, and Peru. The Q&A focused on the structure of their international factoring, managed through third-party partners, the total market size for their products, and their plans for expanding to new regions.

Following that, Sommos introduced its mission to connect vulnerable populations with financial institutions. Investors inquired about the company’s approach to managing macroeconomic risks in Latin America, user-retention rates, and the operational challenges anticipated as they scale.

The pitch by Suyana showcased a parametric insurance technology offering rapid and transparent payouts to small-scale producers. The discussion addressed how Suyana differentiates itself from other parametric insurers, its strategies for reaching the smallest farmers, its revenue model, and its investment requirements and expected returns.

SiembraCo explained how its “virtual farming” model connects supply and demand through digital agreements that bring greater predictability and shared value. Questions focused on how much producers improve their income through the platform and who assumes crop-loss risk, which Siembra Co takes on directly.

Hola Tractor highlighted the lack of access to essential services—such as mechanization and market connections for most small farmers in Latin America and presented their solution to close this gap. Questions addressed operational challenges and the company’s ability to scale across diverse regions.

Imix continued with a presentation focused on streamlining digital workflows for agricultural organizations that refer their members for productive loans. Following this pitch, SpaceAG addressed their suite of digital tools for workflow optimization and precision agriculture. The main question centered on the company’s most significant current challenge and the immediate priorities needed to advance their growth.

After the startup presentations, the session transitioned to a reverse pitch, where investors introduced themselves, shared their investment approaches, and explained the types of companies and geographies they support.

Representatives from IDB lab, Mercy Corps, IDH, Brumas Venture, Impaqto Capital, Root Capital, The Yield Lab Latam, and Pampa Start described their mandates across agriculture, climate resilience, financial inclusion, digital innovation and early-stage impact investment. Their participation provided founders with clarity on investment theses, target stages and potential pathways for future collaboration.

The session concluded with final remarks and acknowledgments to the participating startups and investor organizations. The Demo Day fulfilled its objective of opening direct channels of interaction between both sides, giving investors a clearer understanding of the solutions presented and setting the stage for potential follow-up conversations.
